What Causes Pain In The Left Foot?

Recently I have been experiencing pain in my left foot and about 2 months ago it was VERY swollen, and it took forever to go down. Still swells a bit every day. The toe next to my big toe was most painful, and all the skin peeled. I am starting to have the same problem with my right foot. Sometimes, out of the blue, I will get intense pain in outer ankle for about 10-15 seconds. Doctor said I did not have gout, though same symptoms, and urea levels high in blood. I am starting to be concerned in case beginning of kidney failure. I also have atrial fib, so wondering if a heart issue.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Recurrent joint pain x the way you explained is very typical of gout. The skin peeling may also occur with gout. Sometimes the uric acid may be normal acute gout.

So I personally understand it's better to reconsider the diagnosis and be checked for gout again.

Slight raise urea does not indicate renal failure. Neither is this thing related to heart condition. Yo shod not worry about these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
