What Causes Pain In The Left Knee Below The Knee Cap?

For the last two days I have suddenly been experiencing pain on the outside of my left knee, somewhat below and to my left of the knee cap. It is worse when I stand and walk, but cold pack w=seem to help. I am not a runner, and actually don t walk as much as I should.

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, there is wear and tear on the cartilage. Most runners would know the severity of this and braces, Aspirin-like drugs, MRI's, physical therapy, gait training, etc.
