What Causes Pain In The Left Side Of Abdomen And Back?

what can pain in the left side of the abdomen and sometimes in the lower left side of the back be a symptom of? This pain comes and goes. Some days I do not have it at all. Otherwise I feel fine. I have lost a good bit of weight over the past three years.

It may be due to Gastroduodenal ulcers, in which stomach acid or h.pylori bacteria causes stomach or small intestinal inner lining surface (mucosa) to get denuded and pain arises from that reason.


Pancreas infection or pancreatic cancer, stomach carcinoma, some splenic disease are other causes in differntial diagnosis list that may lead to this pain.

You need an urgent appointment with a Gastroentrologist for the same. He is trained to treat such patients successfully.
