What Causes Pain In The Left Side Of The Abdomen?

hello, I have been going through left side pain .... I understand that certain elements have found their way into my otherwise healthy system ... my instinct tells me that my pancreas is flamed as the pain radiates to my back and causes back pain and stomach pain - bloating ... I would like to have some opinion of what to do before I go through many of possible tests. kind regards

Hi,

You are right that pain in stomach that radiating to the back may be caused by inflammation of pancreas howe'ver pain of pancreatitis is very severe associated with vomiting. Your pain is more likely to be secondary to gastric ulcer.

I understand you should take some antacids like Gaviscon, and acid suppression drugs like omeprazole. I hope this would settle. Also to avoid spicy foods and excessive caffeine and alcohol.

If it didn't settle or pain is very severe then you should see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
