What Causes Pain In The Legs Upon Standing For Long?

Hi, I experienced pain in my legs which i found difficult to explain. Don t know if it s the muscle, the bone or the veins. It frequently happened when I am in a mall for more than 2 hours standing all the time. Also when I am walking, say when in a tour that requires more walking and standing. I don t experience it when I am playing badminton for almost two hours. So it puzzles me why when I am standing I cannot do it for long. I really have to find anything to sit on. I am 5 3 in height and weighs 128lbs which I think is not that heavy that my legs cannot stand my weight?

Hello,

Leg pain when standing for long times is very likely due to venous insufficiency. When the veins of the leg struggle to pump the blood back to the heart they may cause swelling, heaviness, and pain in the leg. This is even worse when standing still as gravity pulls the blood down the legs.
You may benefit from compression stockings to help the veins in the legs and prevent this pain. It is also best to talk to your doctor to have a check and rule out other causes of the pain.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Regards,
