What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen And Diarrhea?
I am a 53 yr-old female. I was diagnosed with endometriosis, had surgery about 10 years ago, and then as symptoms recurred, I had an endometrial ablation over a year ago. In recent months I have been experiencing similar pain and diarrhea, in the same lower left abdominal location as before, accompanied by vaginal discharge. I don t have periods, just these other symptoms. Is it possible for that stray endometrial material still to be hurting after an ablation?
Thank you for the question. First let me explain the basics After ablation periods not possible and also your age may reached menopause endometriosis is not directly related to diarrhea or lack of periods or discharge Now. for left abdominal pain. discharge diarrhoea. Exam by a doctor may be necessary Investigations 1. Stool ova and cyst -culture and sensitivity 2. Ct scan abdominal for any mass 3 urinalysis for discharge and any infection in urinary system 4. Pap smear and High Vaginal swab 5. Full haemogram 6. Colonoscopy and biopsy for diarrhea
Treatment Depends on the out come of investigations Antibiotics If any infection anti diarrhea Anti fungal and anti trochomoniasis Then do follow up.
