What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen During Menstruation?

My wife age is 24yrs. Weare married from Dec-2015. She is under thyroid medication and her TSH is well within limits. We planned for family but she missed the pregnancy. Her menstrual cycle remians irregular for 1month. On consulting a gynaecologist and undergoing voltaneuron & Chrominac tabs she had conceived from last two months. But she feels lower abdomen pain similar during pre menstrual cycle. On further consultation doctor adviced to take strone200 & All9D tabs alongwith Hucog 10000 i.u on weekly basis. My question is for the reason behind these 2 tablets and injection course weekly basis being prescribed. One more doubt is whether these medicines intake will affect the development of the growing embryo. eagerly awaiting your reply.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are consistent with congestive dysmenorrhea.

As of now you can take analgesics like mefenamic acid for pain relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a gynaecologist and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
