What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen Just Above The Waist?

My son, age 19, has pain in his lower right side just above the waist. He has aspergers so he s not doing hard labor, but we have been told that his liver enzymes are high, and they ve done several tests to see why but everything came out fine. So dr. told him to lose weight, he did. He s of normal weight now. Could this pain be from his liver? It does hurt for him to bend forward.
