What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Left Side?

Hi, I don t know what s wrong with me. It started with pain a dew weeks ago which was only felt now and then in my lower left abdomen. Since then, it has progressed to be a constant pain n is now on the lower right side of my abdomen. I had a c section about 4-5 years ago n did feel stab like pain just where my scar is yesterday, but that was only momentary. Also, my scar is above my public bone. I usually always have to get up during the night to pass water and frequently have inconsistent motions. I go everyday, but sometimes stools may be dihorrea like or normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be renal stone. However, We have to rule out other causes also. As first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
