What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Left Side?

i am on my 32 week of pregnancy . when i went to see the doctor due to some pain in left side of lower abdomen , my doc told me that my cervix is short and i should take duvadalin retard and complete bed rest . i am worried whether i will deliver prematurely . please provide me the details about the same . what all precautions should i take?? i read somewhere that i wont have labour pain and it is difficult during delivery time since cervix length is short . whether taking medicine is enough??

short cervical length may increased chances of prematurity ..its anatomical and constitutional defect in cervical lenghth can't be increased..but u can only prevent prematurity by hormonal thetapy and by rest ..
