What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Right Side After Hysterectomy?

I had a hysterectomy on Aug 19th. 32 staples, navel to clitoris. Was re-admitted on the 25th for infection. Released on Sept 1st. For the last 2 days I ve had severe pain in my lower right abdomen and a low tempature. Lowest was 97.4, highest was 98.1. Taking my temp every 3 hours for the last two days. I m afraid to call my doctor because I don t want to get sent to the hospital again.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Developing fever and severe pain a few days after the last admission for hysterectomy warrants a medical visit. I understand your reluctance to do so, but on the other hand, it is vital that infection or other complications are completely ruled out.
A gynecological visit and possibly a vaginal ultrasound are necessary.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
