General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely your symptoms are due to constipation but it is best to rule out ovarian problems first, especially because you already have had ovarian cysts.

I would recommend you to have a transvaginal ultrasound and a urinalysis and if these are normal then constipation is a likely cause.

In this case, you may take movicol to help your stools be soft and also make sure you take plenty for fruit and vegetable with diet and plenty of water.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
