My wife has pain in lower part of belly (up of vagina).Alrtra sound report says: Adenexa- left ovary is normal in size.right ovary enlarged in size, one rounded well defined anechoic area measuring about 1.22 cm x 1.11 cm is seen in right ovary Cul-de- Sac Mild fluid collection is noted What does it mean? Thanks for posting on HCM
The ultrasound term anechoic (no echos) may be used to describe fluid like cyst fluid.Given the small size, it may not be a cause for concern and less likely to be the cause of your pains.Mild fluid collection in cul-de-sac is suggestive of a PID.This condition may be painful and may explain your symptoms.I will suggest you see your Gynecologist for management.You will need a course of antibiotis for this condition.You may be placed on
-Amoxcicillin-clavulanic acid
-Metronidazole
-An anti-spamodic pain drug like spasfon if pain intense
-Pain/anti-inflammatory like profenid.
