Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having pain in the lower part of the upper left abdominal area for two weeks. My first thought was pancreatitis. ( I have had this twice in the past) Last night the pain became so intense that I was crying and struggling to walk without being hunched over. So, my husband took me to the ER. The ER did blood work and a CT scan. Then the ER doctor came back telling me that I have gallstones, but that there is no inflammation, so that s not what is causing the pain. He also said that I have a urine infection and they found a cyst on my left ovary. NONE of which explains the pain that I am having, much less the fact that I have pain after eating and more so after eating a fatty meal. I will be calling my doctor Monday morning, but what can I do for the PAIN until then?
