Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have some lower abdomen pain, a lot gas, and yesterday I had a 101 temperature. I thought I might have a a UTI but the gas made me question that. Of course there is flu and stomach virus running rampant in the Mississippi Delta. I missed my doctor s appointment due to work. I work at a newspaper and I suppose it could be stress. Trying to decide if I should go to after hours clinic or just wait it out.
I feel you have gastritis or acid peptic disease. You can wait and follow some tips. If not better consult a doctor
1. Do not eat spicy food 2. Take medications for gastritis- pantop/omez/rantac 3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8 am, a small snack at 11 am, lunch at 1 pm, a small snack at 4 pm and dinner at 8 pm 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea 6. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis 7. Do regular exercise. At least half an hour per day 8. Learn meditation techniques 9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
