Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have ibs and just had a endoscopy thursday they didnt find any bacteria i have beenhaving pretty bad pains in lower stomach now i only able to sleep one two hours a night. I just woke up with a different uncomfortable pain its gassy weird pain going up on my left side. Is it something to be worried about?
Hi.Since you are a known patient of IBS- irritable bowel syndrome, the endoscopy may be normal in appearance. Well bacteria are not found on Endoscopy. The pain in lower abdomen / stomach can be due to colitis and that is why it is getting gassy weird pain going up on left side. This is to be worried as you need to be started on an appropriate antibiotic, metronidazole and anti-spasmodic with anxiolytic tablets. Relieve the stress and anxiety, one of the most important of IBS.
