What Causes Pain In The Lower Back And Left Shoulder?

I am a 49 year old female. I have had issues with my neck, back and right shoulder for years (car wreck and rotator cuff injury). Over the last two weekends, I have done a tremendous amount of yard work, including lots of weed-pulling, raking, etc. Of course, now my body is aching, especially my lower back and left shoulder. The pain in my left shoulder seems to be radiating to the front of that shoulder area, feeling like a constant stinging or burning sensation on my front chest area, sorta even with my armpit area, but over somewhat, beneath my collar bone. Does this sound like something coming from my rotator cuff/shoulder area pain, from several hours of yard work? I guess I want to be sure it is not heart-related, on my left side. My blood pressure is good, around 120/80 or less.

Hello,

The pain in the shoulder which is radiating in nature can be due to nerve root entrapment at the cervical spine and due to this, the pain is present.

Using a cervical soft collar and hot water fermentation will help reduce the pain.

Do some exercise for the neck strengthening and upper limb strengthening.

Also RCI Rehabilitation is a must to avoid further damage to the shoulder. For back pain, do use the core stability exercises to improve the muscle strength and stability of the lumbar spine.

Your pain and aches are due to hard work. But with conservative management you will be fine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
