What Causes Pain In The Lower Back And Legs?

I am 60 years old, and I have had pain in my lower back, now it is going down both of my legs to my heels. I was sent to therapy, it helped a little at first, but didn t take long for the pain to come back. Now, when I wake up in the mornings I am unable to sit down on a firm seat. I have to take gabapentin, Motrin, and or Flexrel. It takes about 1-2 hours before I can move or sit. I think my PA is sending me to a Neurologist to see what he can do. Would this pain be caused by a sciatica?
