What Causes Pain In The Lower Back And Rib Cage?

Pain the my lower back, rib cage and on doctors exam when pressing on my stomach I had pain. A small cyst was found four years ago on my right kidney. If I bend the wrong way the right side of my stomach feels like it balls up and tightens causing pain pain.

Hi,

If you have not done any recent imaging, this may be necessary to determine the cause of the pain that you are experiencing. An ultrasound of the abdomen may be needed.

It is possible that the pain, based on the fact that you state it feels like it tightens, may be due to muscle spasm but imaging would rule out any issues in any of the organs.
