General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Uncomplicated appendicular inflammation in early stage can resolve with medicines & self care. -take medicines prescribed by a surgeon regularly till your doctor withdraws it after confirming healing. - eat light&easily digestible food in small servings more frequently. ( every 3 hours..except for after 8pm.) -Assure smooth stools . Take stool softners like lactulose over the counter as per need. - Do not foment/massage abdomen.Nno local pain ointments please. -Avoid abdominal exercises/abdominal stress .. like weight lifting. -please keep in mind that surgery may be need with unrelieved pain ,vomitting & fever... &rush to doctor if at all such symptoms arise. Thanks.
