Hello; my problem is daily pain across my mid back which seems to be worse when I get it of bed, but gets a little better after being up for awhile.I am 69, can it be arthritis or strained muscles? or something requiring medical evaluation. Thanks in advance for your opinion

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Pain and morning stiffness is likely due to arthritis of spine. Morning stiffness is especially suggestive of inflammatory arthritis. Xray of spine and blood ESR, RA factor levels are indicated at this point.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and management
Meanwhile, you can take Advil for pain.

Hope this answers your questions
