What Causes Pain In The Neck Radiating To The Lower Back?

About 2 months ago, I had pain in my neck and a numbness and tingling in my left arm; since, then the pain/discomfort has moved to the center of my back down to my lower back and down my right leg. I have also noticed that I have weakness on my right leg; it is a struggle to walk up stairs. I also have headaches and sometimes they get pretty severe but the severeness fades after about 2-3 minutes. Any ideas or advice?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the constellation of symptoms with pain over neck radiating to lower back, numbness arm indicate possible nerve compression involving the spinal nerve roots inside the spinal canal.

* In my clinic, after thorough neurologic evaluation of the patient, I recommend necessary lab panel, MRI of the concerned areas for best possible evaluation and management in accordance to that only.

* It is recommended that you fix an appointment with consultant neurologist and get further directions from this point ahead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
