What Causes Pain In The Neck Radiating To The Upper Back?

I have pain in my neck that has resonated to my upper back, there is also a slight numbness in the thumb of my left hand accompanied by a tingling sensation at times. When i touch my left shoulder with my chin there is pain in my neck and upper back,

There is possible disorder in cervical part of spine and you should do MRI scan to see is there disc bulge or vertebral degeneration.
