What Causes Pain In The Pelvic Area And Difficulty In Walking?
After lifting my 40 pound dog into back seat of my car i experienced pain and tugging in the pelvic area with pain and difficulty walking. Could I have pulled a muscle that results in this discomfort ? It occurred midday Saturday and i am still uncomfortable, but not as much pain.
Yes you most definitely have pulled a muscle. This will take time to heal (about 2-3 weeks).
I recommend : - rest when you can. -avoid lifting weights -take shorter strides while walking. Avoid activities that use that muscle a lot (climbing for instance-you'll know when it hurts or pulls) -if it an area where you can feel that muscle with your hands, any anti inflammatory gels in gentle circular motion after hot compresses thrice a day. If not take warm baths and have anti inflammatory medications like diclofenac or ibuprofen. -as the pain has reduced, these measures alone will help the healing process.
If it gets worse or persists more than a month see your physician to make sure there is no lasting injury. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health
