What Causes Pain In The Rib Cage On The Left Side?
I have pain in my lower left rib cage ,my intestines are painful, the pain goes thru to my lower back, I also have vomiting ,but no blood. I thought I had blocked colon,I tried dulcolax thinking I might unblock the problem and I would feel better. not happening.
dear sir i understand your concerns about your pain. the following symptoms you are experiencing can be due to many causes. but based on the way you are describing your pain the first thing that must be considered is pancreatitis 1- pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas, it causes pain on the left upper quadrant associated with vomiting and causing the pain to radiate to the back exactly like your case. 2- i highly recommend doing a complete blood count, lipase and amylase (that will be very high in case of a pancreatitis) and to continue the complementary tests such as liver function tests, creatinine and a ct scan of the abdomen if needed to see the inflammation of the pancreas. that is why i recommend you to go the emergency departement for evaluation 3- meanwhile you should avoid drinking alcohol, eat low fat diet and use pain killers to help ease the pain.
