What Causes Pain In The Right Ankle?

I have pain in my ankle, right side only in the front on the outside. Not constant. It hurts when going downstairs, if I put weight on it suddenly, especially while turning, if I try to run or if I walk a lot. Hurts more when barefoot or wearing flat shoes, less when wearing something with a moderate heal. Basically anything that results in the foot being fully flexed. No injury that I can point to. I did injure my achilles tendon about three years ago, but that is basically healed now(only occassional mild tenderness. Not sure if this is pertinent, but I do have a slight turnout of my right foot and I think every leg related injury I have ever had has been on my right side.
