What Causes Pain In The Right Knee After Swimming?

I run hurdles and swim, during the track season started to have moderate dull pain in my right knee. I went to the trainer and she told me that it was fluid behig my patella and that it would go away. It did, when i was in between season. I started swimming agan and it has come back, do you think it is still fluid behind my patell, or if it is something dofferent?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, X-ray of the affected joint and joint aspiration for microscopy as well as cultures may be helpful.

Septic arthritis Vs crystal arthropathy should be ruled out. Serum uric acid levels, ferritin levels may also be needed.

Using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
