What Causes Pain In The Right Side Of The Abdomen After Eating Food?

I have pain in my stomach, mostly on the right side, but not always. it would hurt after I ate something, so one day I decided not to eat and see if that helped. 5 days went by without eating, I felt fine, no weakness, no headache from not eating, but the pain came back. now it has been 3 months and I am down to one meal a day. it hurts all day long. its like a burning more than a cramping.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from Irritable bowel problems or food allergy or gallbladder or liver dysfunction or gastric ulcer disease etcetera. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, dairy products, and gluten-containing food. Use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved, then please consult your physician so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
