What Causes Pain In The Right Upper Arm And Shoulder?

My upper right arm and shoulder have been aching the past few days. When i message it it feels tingly (like low blood flow) then better until the next day. After i sleep on it, it hurts to move my arm, and it sometimes wakes me up. I have to sleep on my left side to keep it from feeling worse. When it s at it s worse i can really use my arm at all until i rub it really hard.

Hello,

You should rule out tendon injury or bursitis like a problem at the shoulder joint. I suggest you investigate with a digital x-ray of the shoulder joint and arm for further work up.

Meanwhile, you can take an anti-inflammatory drug for pain and inflammation relief. Based on x-ray finding further, workup was done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
