What Causes Pain In The Shoulders And Sides Post Blood Thinner Intake?

My sister started taking coumadin last week. Prior to that she was taking a different blood thinner (can t remember the name). On both she has had severe pain in her shoulders and on her sides. She can t get in to see a hematologist until May 3. I m concerned about why she s having this pain. Can you advise me?

Hi,

Pain in shoulders and on her sides is not due to Coumadin unless you've noted any hematoma locally.

Pain is more muscular and related to primary diagnosis for which she started to take Coumadin.

So, I highly recommend to consult with a cardiologist and run a complete cardiac check-up to rule out related problems and treat them adequately.

For the moment, should take Paracetamol only for the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
