Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Okay so I jumped off a bridge that was about 30 feet above the water. I hit the water in a seated position but coming out I ve had pain in my chest and neck. It hurts to move my head to look up and to look down. For my chest, it s in my sternum area and it s very painful to breathe, especially painful to laugh or yawn. I m just wondering why I m having such bad pain And pressure when those body parts did not even smack on the water
I think the pain is due to trauma while hitting the water in a seated position. I want to rule out vertebral spine severe trauma, so please seek immediate medical help.
You need to see both orthopedic specialists for vertebral spine and neurologist for the nerve part.
If cannot manage to consult them immediately, then, go to ER. They will help you there. But you should explain them in details what happened.
Meanwhile, avoid movements of head and body until you see the doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
