What Causes Pain In The Sternum While Breathing Deep?

Hi....I fell this past week and ended up landing on right breast side. Under my breast on the right side I have experienced some soreness and when I breath in a quick breath I get discomfort in that spot? Any suggestions? Should I use a ice pack or heating pad...which one would be better?

There is a chance that you might have rib fracture following a fall.
Clinical examination and Chest x ray may be helpful finding out the problem. Ice pack might give a temporary relief for pain.
