What Causes Pain In The Temporomandibular Joint, Headache And Nasal Bleeding After Injury?
hi, am Mary a female 27. I had a fall on the 08/6/2017. I fell with my lower jaw which broke off a speck of my incisors tooth and left a crack on it. I also sustained a hematoma at the landing site. I have been experiencing pain in my temporomandibular region sequel to that and occasional headache and nose bleeding. please your expert advice will be of immense help
It looks like there has been trauma to the temporo-mandibular joint or the jaw joint. It is causing pain in the TMJ region and can even cause headache as a radiating pain..
So for a confirmation of nothing serious you should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a CT Scan can be done for confirmation.. Also a Panoromic x ray can be done to check for any dislocations or fracture in the jaw joint so that further management can be done..
For now you can take pain relievers to reduce pain..
You can pinch your nostrils gently when there s bleeding and bend slightly forwards to avoid choking.. Avoid snuffing the nose vigorously..
Hope this helps.
Regards.
