What Causes Pain In The Testicle After An Inguinal Hernia Removal Surgery?

Hello, i have had an inguino scrotal hernia removed 7 days ago. My left side of my scrotum was swollen but i now fit in the s upport that i was given, thereore i feel the swelling was coming down. Now however there is very little difference in the size, but this is causing me loads of pain, as in i cant walk without fear of passing out kinda pain. The area is around 5 times the size that it was before the surgery and im getting pulses of pain in the testicle. I have been in bed lying down mostly and taking pain medication and anti inflamatories. Is this normal or should i seek further advice prior to seeing my surgeon next week ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it could be due to nerve entrapment or inflammation.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
