What Causes Pain In The Testicles After Having Alcohol?

54 year old Caucasian male in good physical condition, when I have alcohol (3-4 drinks) my testicles hurt and it gets worse if i m also exercising or doing physical labor. Any idea what causes the pain? on a scale of 1-10 it s about a 3.5, i can live with it but I wonder why it s happening.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Alcohol per say doesn’t cause testicular pain. However alcohol can cause worsening of testicular pain. Conditions like epididymitis can be worsened by alcohol. As of now take an ultrasound scrotum done to rule out conditions like torsion or epididymitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
