What Causes Pain In The Thighs And Groin Area After Exercising?

Thursday, warm up excersize starts from lying on back, turn over, get up, go into full sprint . Once up, first step was full extension / pulling thru, felt pain on inner left thigh up to my pubic area ...to say the least remained of workout was handycaped. I did feel what I thought a muscle cramp/ bump on my left side and massaged it and Laying on back was not able to lift left leg straight up without discomfort ....Friday limited motion , no bump felt.... Sat. Discomfort seem to be decreasing , noticed while showering bruising above penis basicly under pubic hair , say approx triangle shape equal sides roughly 3 ...end of today bruising size increased to about 4 equal sided triangle ...bowel movement seams to be normal, no blood in stool, no stomach pain, occasionally twing when step wrong ...bruised area not sensitive .....bottom line maybe just pulled muscle ? Brusing changes , or any thing else I will seek medical help ....thinking this will get better without seeking medical attention. Thank you Karl 57 yrs old 6 -1 245 lbs

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think it is a pulled muscle and overuse of muscles. Put ice over the pain and hematoma. Use anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil for pain and take rest. Stretching and physical therapy can help to heal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
