What Causes Pain In The Thighs?

I have pain in my thighs when they are pressed. Also, if I sit in one spot too long my left leg gets numb. My left leg feels as though it is on the verge of a Charlie horse almost all the time. If I lie on my left side to sleep, I wake up with my left upper thigh area sore during the night.
