What Causes Pain In The Thumb And Wrist?
A friend came in complaining of pain in her thumb and wrist. The vein on top of the wrist appears to have definite swelling and is very painful. There is also bruising on the inside of her wrist along that vein. She said she has bruises for no reason and a week or so ago spit out blood brushing her teeth. I work with her and she has been sick more lately. I urged her to go on to the emergent care, but she said she will go tomorrow. I encouraged ice pack 20 min on and 20 min off. Should I have been more urgent or added anything to what I told her?

Over and above the things mentioned above, intake of tablet Ibuprofen with antacids; rest with elevation of the wrist support great till she meets her doctor.
