What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen And Pain While Breathing?

hi I have a question regarding my 13 year old daughter. On and off for about a month now she has been complaining about a sharp pain like a knife, in the upper middle of her stomach. she says it hurts to breathe and move. she is in pain now, should she go to the er? I keep telling her sounds like gas bubbles.

Hi,

Based on the symptoms you have described your daughter, it would be better to get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen done to know what could be the cause for it.

The underlying cause can be treated accordingly. If she is unable to bear the symptoms and if it is happening more frequently, it is advisable to take her to the hospital promptly.
