What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen Below The Rib Cage?

upper right quadant pain under rib cage and sternum area. Hurts more on exhale. I have heart burn and I never have heart burn. Started about 1 pm today, the best I felt is I played on my stomach, and I fell asleep for 1.2 hour. When I woke up and started moving around pain came back

Hi,

The pain in the area is either due to acid reflux disease or from the heart problem.

All you need to do is take medication like Pantoprazole. You also stop smoking if you smoke and avoid coffee, citrus foods.

If symptoms don't subside then you may need to have a physical examination to rule out the possibility of heart disease. But I am sure it is due to acid reflux. So follow this protocol, you will feel healthy soon.
