What Causes Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

I HAVE SHARP CRAMPING PAIN JUST ABOVE THE TOP OF MY STOMACH BUT LOWER THAN MY STERNUM. My back is sweating but my hands are cold and shaking. I FEEL NAUSIUS BUT CANNOT THROW UP. I also feel a little dizzyou. 45 YR OLD FEMALE. THYROID REMOVED 10 YRS AGO..AM TAKING THYROID MED EVERY DAY. Any ideas?

Hello,

It is typical of gastritis.

As a first line management, you can take antacids like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an endoscopy.

Avoid spicy foods.
