Hi, my upper abdomen(stomac area) hurst while eating. The pain can be described as stabing, almost breathtaking while eating. After eating pain is less and a bit heartburn and burps. No diaree or vomiting or fever. 3 days ago I eat, strawberries, tuna and some hot chicken. Any idea what I have? Yesterday(2day) was worse, today(3day) is less intense but still causing discomfort while eating.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, thanks for the query. I understand your concern. The pain in upper abdomen starting with eating spicy food like hot chicken & tuna...has caused irritation of stomach lining ( mucosa)... resulting in inflammation & pain Gastritis.. releaved by eating. Avoiding spicy food, fasting & taking sips of cold milk / bland food in small multiple servings would help, Over the counter Gelusil tablets ..2 tabs sucked three times a day would help. No releaf demands consultation of gasteroenterologist, Thanks
