What Causes Pain In The Upper Arm After Sacroiliac Joint Fusion Surgery?

I am due to have my sacroiliac joint fused. I also have a fusion just below my bra line which needs repair and extension,. Last year I had fusions and diseconomies on my neck. Now, to my horror I have pain in my upper arms ( right mainly),....falling apart! Could the arm pain be caused by my back? I am 75. YYYY@YYYY Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
