What Causes Pain In The Upper Back And Neck?

My very healthy 17yr old daughter has had a sudden onset of; her upper back hurts her thru neck and up into the back of her head. This started suddenly 3 days ago. She is running a low grade temp (99.4) She has been working, but keeps saying she feels weird. Doesn t help if she stays in bed and gets more rest, actually feels worse in am s. She said she doesn t have any flu or cold symptoms. She just called me at work and said she can t say what is wrong, but she feels weird. Fluids, soaking in bath doesn t seem to help. Do I take her to doctor, chiropractor, massage therapist, Any possible ideas to check for? Do I give it more time?

Hi,

It may be simple muscular pain associated with viral fever.

You can take analgesics like Acetaminophen for symptomatic relief. If pain persists, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
