What Causes Pain In The Upper Back And Under The Breast?
I fell off my horse earlier and I am having a lot of pain in the upper left part of my back and under my breast in the rib cage area on the left side and the sternum as well because that was the side of impact. It hurts to bend over, breathe in , laugh, cough or lie back. I don t think anything is broken, could it just be severely bruised? What should I be doing to help these symptoms? Thank you.
Pain do commonly occur after trauma. This is mostly because of the sore muscles and not serious . If you don't feel short of breath, or severe pain then you can just some over the counter painkiller like Ibuprofen, and some muscle relaxant like nuberol Forte for. Few days. Heatpads and massage may also be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
