What Causes Pain In The Upper Back Around The Shoulder Blades?

My benicar hct has been increased from 20-12.5 to 40-25 and I ve been having back pain in my upper back around the shoulder blade area. The information I ve read is that is a rare side effect so I m wondering if it could be that. I ve been on benicar for ten years and this is a recent problem of the past 6 months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If the pain started with the change in medication then it could definitely be related though the chance is rare. Because it is an uncommon side effect however, other causes should be ruled out. You should consider seeing your doctor for an assessment which would include physical examination and possibly imaging.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
