Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have pain in upper back cmg into left hand have taken pain killers and medicines like pragabaline and gabapentine its been over a month n it s not helping please suggest some other medicine have already show it to couple of doctors have been on physiotherapy but not helping got the mri done it shows disc dessication noted from c5-6 to c7-D1 YYYY@YYYY
As due to disc injury there will be a possibility of the thecal sac compression. I will first advice to use a cervical soft collar and use hot water fermentation.
Check your pain levels between 0-10 on a visual analog scale where 0 is no pain and 10 is maximum pain. Continue using the cervical soft collar and hot water fermentation till the pain level drops somewhere between 5-7.
Also, manage your medicine which is actually the pain killers. Like if it's once a day manage the 24 hours gap.
And twice a day then manage 12 hours gap. Usually, with this, the pain levels should drop.
Then do static neck exercises and stabilization exercises for neck compression to relieve. If any more help needed do let me know.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
