What Causes Pain In The Upper Leg After An Injury?

I had a fall on Saturday, outside with the dog and his leash wrapped around my feet, caused me to fall, landed on dirt, on my left backside. I have pain on left side where I hit the ground an pain in upper left leg. Could it be sciatica or strained muscle?

Hi,

This is most likely a strained muscle, because sciatica would be along the whole leg associated dull pain, numbness, tingling etc. Fracture would have caused very severe pain and loss of function. Give some rest to muscles, hot fomentation, diclofenac local gel and some pain killers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
