What Causes Pain In The Upper Right Arm?

I have had a pain in the upper part of my right arm for over 2 months and it is getting worse. It at first feels like someone punched me. It steadily gets worse and spreads down to my hand ,making it numb. The pain is really bad sometimes. If I position the arm straight up in air it does sometimes release the worse pain. I had spoken to my doctor about but they dismissed it. It is so bad sometimes I can t raise my arm.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Here neuropathy might the cause or there might be cervical spine inflammation or bulging disc like problem

This should be ruled out first by neurological examination and x ray local part

If needed MRI and Nerve conduction study can be done for that

Rule out vitamin b12 deficiency by serum B12 level

Smoking, alcohol avoided if habit

According to cause specific treatment given

If chest pain also associated than EKG needs to be done

Take care

Consult physician or neurologist for examination and further work up

Hope your concern solved
