What Causes Pain In The Vagina During Intercourse?
I m having pain during sex. It s right away and the pain goes away after a while, but it s just one side of the inside of my vagina. I went to my school s women s center and a doctor checked me out, and said the muscle wall was hit or something, and that now I associate that with pain everytime. I have tried relaxing and it still happens, so I m not sure what to do now, but the pain hasn t gone away.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Pain during intercourse could be due to mainly three reasons. 1. Lack of proper lubrication. 2. Mechanical trauma. 3. Presence of infection. Improper lubrication can be overcome by spending more time during foreplay or using water based lubricants before intercourse. Mechanical trauma can be overcome by avoiding rough sex and taking care while stimulation with fingers. Infection can be either bacterial or fungal. You need to take appropriate antibiotic course or use anti-fungal cream to overcome them. Since, Chlamydia infection (bacteria) is common and many a times asymptomatic, it would be better you get a cervical swab investigation done and check for its infection in the laboratory. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
